本院為伯特利會於一九二五年在上海創辦，定名「伯特利聖經書院」，稍後改名為「伯特利聖經學院」，三年制畢業。一九三七年蘆溝橋事變，戰爭蔓延上海，學院於一九三八年遷來香港；一九四六年於上海復校，由於舊地址被毀，一九四七年決定返回香港，之後改名「伯特利神學院」，四年制畢業，頒授「神學學士」學位。
 
一九八九年開設延伸制「聖經/神學證書」課程。一九九四年增設「基督教輔導學證書/文憑」課程。
一九九七年設立「臨床牧關教育/教牧輔導教育證書」。
 
一九九七及九八年與加拿大阿基狄亞大學中之阿基狄亞神學院(Acadia Divinity College of Acadia University)取得聯繫，聯辦「道學碩士」、「文學碩士」及「神學研究碩士」等課程。
 
一九九九年為開設三年制「神學研究學士」裝備信徒修讀聖經及神學課程。
 
二零零四年九月開設三年制「基督教婚姻及家庭治療碩士」課程，為日益嚴重的家庭問題，培訓教牧及信徒來回應。
 
二零零六年一月開設三年制「基督教輔導學及基督教教育學士」課程，裝備信徒作教會福音幹事及學校宗教主任。
 
二零零七年九月開設三年制「基督教輔導學及社會服務碩士」課程，裝備教牧及信徒從事教會屬下的社會服務事工，在老人、學生及主管層面培訓人才。
 

A BRIEF STUDY PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Our seminary was founded in 1925 in Shanghai; it was first named Bethel Bible College, offering a three year curriculum. It was moved to Hong Kong in 1938; renamed Bethel Bible Seminary in 1947, a four year curriculum offering a Bachelor of Theology degree.

In 1989, we have set up Certificates in Biblical/Theological Studies for Church Leaders.

In 1994, we have set up Certificates/Diploma in Christian Counseling, Clinical Pastoral Education and Pastoral Counseling Education.

In 1997, we have affiliated with Acadia University and Started offering Master of Divinity, Master of Art (Theology) and Master of Theological Studies.

In 1998, we have registered as a professional organization {The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and Pastoral Counseling Education (Hong Kong) Limited.} HKACPE/PCE, hoping that this organization will help promote the training.

In 1998, we have set up Bethel Pastoral Counseling Centre to promote a Bible based counseling to integrate our faith with counseling and to serve the community at large.

In 1999, we have also set up a new program in Bachelor of Theological Studies for lay leader to do move in depth research and studies in Bible and in Theology.
