MASTER
OF THEOLOGICAL STUDIES
PURPOSE:
The Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.)
is a two-year degree program of Biblical, Theological
studies, especially for lay persons who posses a B.A.
or B.Sc. degree from a recognized institution or equivalent.
This degree program is not considered adequate preparation
for pastoral ministry, but it seeks to develop theological
and biblical understanding, which will inform or enhance
their personal and professional lives.
PREREQUISITE:
Students may complete the required 66 credit
hours of course work toward the M.T.S. degree in approximately
two-and-a-half years. However, the statute of limitations
is 5 years.
The Master of Theological Studies students wish
to switch to a Master of Divinity program during his/her
final year then the Master of Divinity degree could
be completed in one additional year for a total of three
years. If M.T.S. graduates wish to pursue toward a Master
of Divinity degree, he/she will require, at least, additional
two years of full time study supplemented by pastoral
and ministry oriented courses (60 credit hours), to
complete the Master of Divinity degree. Graduates with
an M.T.S. and wish to move on to a Master of Divinity
the time limit must within seven years, otherwise advanced
credit(s) cannot be transferred to another degree program.
The arrangements for moving from one-degree program
to another will be "consistent with the practice
of Acadia Divinity College".
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE:
1. Applicants
should complete and return an Application Form for Admission.
2. Applicants are requested to sent or have sent to
the Admission Office, includes:

A brief personal biographical
statement and clear evidence for vocational calling. |

Official transcripts of all post-secondary
schools previously attended. Photocopies are not
accepted |
| (3) |
Three references letters from the
applicant's pastor, deacon board, a present employer
or an academic professor/teacher who is well acquainted
with the applicant. An official letter of endorsement
requested by the applicant and sent directly to
the Admission Office by the applicant's church. |

Six recent a half-length (2 x 1.5)
portrait of the applicant. |
| (5) |
A non-refundable application
fees must accompany the Application for Admission. |
| (6) |
Each applicant should
present a current Medical Examination Report. |
